SHARP COPIERS WIN INDEPENDENT INDUSTRY AWARDS
MAHWAH, NJ June 29, 2004 -- Sharp Document Solutions Company of America today announced that its AR-M700 and AR-C260P Digital IMAGER™ MFPs were honored with two of BERTL’s Best™ Spring 2004 awards.
Sharp’s award-winning AR-M700 was named the “Best 61-70ppm Monochrome MFP,” and the AR-C260P received the “Best Ledger-Capable Office Color Printer.” These prestigious awards reaffirm Sharp’s user-friendly productivity features, such as Scan2, and multifaceted security solutions provide information-critical offices with products that can meet or exceed expectations.

The BERTL’s Best Awards are designed to recognize the best in digital imaging technology and innovation. Devices are analyzed across a wide range of parameters with emphasis placed on the end-user experience, taking into consideration overall value for money, competitive advantage, design and build quality, standard functions, modularity of design and upgrade path to more extensive functionality. The award for “Best 61-70ppm Monochrome MFP” is presented to the product that delivers the most extensive functionality and utility to office workgroups. “Sharp’s AR-M700 was chosen for this award based on the combination of its high functionality, excellent security features, good paper handling and finishing options and reasonable price,” said BERTL CEO Carmel Rowley.
The AR-M700 is a high-end business MFP that improves office productivity with Sharp’s Scan2 technology and includes security features that meet the needs of today’s networked companies. Scan2 Technology scans both sides of a two-sided document in a single pass, increasing user productivity and decreasing wear and tear on the equipment. AR-M700 also offers a wide range of security options, including both standard and optional security measures.
The “Best Ledger-Capable Office Color Printer” is awarded to the product that delivers the most extensive and useful capabilities for workplaces printing ledger/A3-sized documents, such as accounting and legal departments. According to Rowley, “Sharp’s AR-C260P received this honor for its combination of high quality color output, good paper handling and finishing options, and reasonable price.”
Sharp’s AR-C260 Color IMAGER is an excellent solution for today’s multitasking and value-driven office workers, quickly delivering color prints. The full-finishing 11 x 17 color printer can outperform most workgroup black and white printers in addition to handling color jobs. The product is also available as an MFP with integrated copying and scanning options.
